ALICE IN WONDERLAND By Lewis Carroll

This book is really great. I just finished reading it, or soon, anyway. It's really interesting. The mad tea party chapter is really fun. I really think you should try it. It's a classic. It also has a little bit of Lewis Carroll's poetry in it.

My mom was reading it to me not so long ago. I hope you enjoy reading it.

THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ: A COMMEMORATIVE POP-UP By L. Frank Baum

This pop-up book is very good. I got it when my brother was born, for being a big sister.

It's a very fun book with a lot of pop-ups. Everyone will enjoy this, especially if you like The Wizard of Oz. When you read it, on each flap there's another pop-up, even little tiny ones.

This is a very long book, but it tells the whole story about Dorothy. My favorite pop-up was at the beginning, where you turn this little flap, and you can see Dorothy and Toto falling off the bed in the tornado.

NO TALKING By Andrew Clements

I think that this book is interesting, and makes you want to keep reading it to see what happens next.

It's about a fifth grade class that has boys and girls in it. The boys and girls are having a contest, because the boys think the girls talk too much, and the girls think the boys talk too much. So, what they do is not talk for a whole week, and whichever team talks less, wins.

I also think this book would be good for around age 8.

BENJY AND THE BARKING BIRD By Margaret Bloy Graham

This book is about a family that lives with a dog named Benjy. Their aunt comes over, and she has a bird that just learned how to bark. Benjy is jealous because the children aren't paying attention to him. He sets the bird free, and now it's loose!

The next morning, everyone goes looking, can't find it, and then go to the pet store to buy a new parakeet. They see a parakeet--it wasn't the original parakeet, it was a new one. But they still bought it.

The next day, they found the bird. The other bird from the pet shop, and the bird that they found that could bark, got married. What a lovely story.

JUNIE B. JONES LOVES HANDSOME WARREN By Barbara Park

Junie B. Jones is a series. In the series, there are books that take place when she is in first grade and kindergarten. But I'm going to talk about a specific book.

This book is about how Junie B. Jones loves this boy, but he thinks she's wacko. Junie's friends Lucille and Grace like him, too. He likes them as friends. The last time Junie saw him, she was laying on the ground, laughing like crazy and rolling over. That's why he thinks she's nuts.
