This book is about a family that lives with a dog named Benjy. Their aunt comes over, and she has a bird that just learned how to bark. Benjy is jealous because the children aren't paying attention to him. He sets the bird free, and now it's loose!The next morning, everyone goes looking, can't find it, and then go to the pet store to buy a new parakeet. They see a parakeet--it wasn't the original parakeet, it was a new one. But they still bought it.
The next day, they found the bird. The other bird from the pet shop, and the bird that they found that could bark, got married. What a lovely story.
Sounds like a wonderful book! It looks like the same author who did 'Harry, the Dirty Dog' series. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
